Prickly pear seed oil has a low comedogenic rating of 1 to 2 on a scale of 0 to 5, meaning it is very unlikely to clog your pores. It is lightweight, absorbs quickly, and is safe for most acne-prone or sensitive skin types.

The prickly pear cactus (Opuntia) is native to the Americas, with domestication beginning in central Mexico around 8,000 to 9,000 years ago. Indigenous peoples used the plant for food and medicine.
