Pure essential oil of Peppermint

Peppermint Essential Oil is steam distilled from crisp, deliciously green leaves of the fragrant Mentha x piperita plant cultivated in rich green fields in the countryside of USA. Peppermint Essential Oil has the aroma of the live plant - wonderfully fresh, cool, green-herbaceous, strongly minty with a powerful menthol and sweet balsamic undertone.

The main constituent of peppermint is Menthol, a potent compound which unto itself causes a quick physical response when inhaled or applied the the skin. It produces a sensation of coolness which the body counteracts by increasing blood flow to the area of application, producing a warming effect. Menthol is liberally used in candies, breath fresheners and beverages, but is also used as a cooling agent in popular over-the-counter muscle and joint preparations.

Essential oil of Peppermint is a major ingredient in any dental oil blend along with essential oils of Fennel, Anise, Clove, Ginger, Cinnamon, Wintergreen, and Spearmint.

Scent: Very minty, hot, but very herbaceous, vegetative back note.

Components: Menthol (48%), Menthone (30%), Cineol, and Pulegone.

Ingredient: Mentha x piperita.

Suggested Use: For aromatherapy use. For all other uses and applications, dilute in a carrier oil such as Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba, etc. Never apply essential oils directly to the skin.
