Castor oil is from the castor bean, native to Africa (Eastern Africa) and was brought to Jamaica (as well as America) by African slaves some 500+ years ago and who used the plant for various medicinal remedies.

Black Castor Oil has a host of therapeutic benefits on the hair and scalp including stimulating and rejuvenating hair growth, countering dandruff, repairing split ends, nourishing the hair, thickening and strengthening the hair, stimulating blood flow to the scalp, cleansing toxins from the scalp, moisturizing dry and brittle hair, adding body and bounce to hair, preventing hair breakage, counteracting itchy scalp, and supplying nutrients to the hair follicles.

Black Castor Oil is effective for working on all hair types and textures because the oil works on the hair roots (follicles) and not the hair itself. Great for balding conditions as well. Also makes a great hot oil hair treatment.
