Unlike preformed Vitamin A (retinol), our Vitamin A does not cause or contribute to liver toxicity (hypervitaminosis A). Hypervitaminosis A is an adverse health condition that occurs when someone consumes too much vitamin A in the form of preformed Vitamin A (retinol), which can lead to toxic effects. It can result from consuming supplements or medications (retinoids), or by eating animal-based foods foods that are high in vitamin A, such as egg yolks, butter, and fish.
