Alepidea is an ethnobotanical plant, with African origins and commonly used by the Xhosa tribe living in south-east South Africa. It is also known as Ikhathazo (Zulu), Lesoko (Sotho) and Iqwili (in the Xhosa language and “large tinsel flower” (Eng.).
Alepidea is an entheogen derived from a dry rhizome and its roots consumed by diviners and healers to assist in divination and communication with the ancestors.
